New and Expanded Services

What’s New, Expanding or Relocating

Many of our expanded services are centralized in a 25,000 sq. ft. Community Health Center building at 1011 Rock Quarry Road. It is located right next door to our current Rock Quarry Road Family Medicine location.

Pediatric Medicine (relocated to 1011 Rock Quarry Road)  ACH_KIDSticker
We provide medical care for children–babies to teens–at all of our locations. Our current location in the new Southeast Raleigh location offers both pediatric care and dental care for kids under one roof. We treat every age, from babies & kids to teenagers. We have board-certified pediatricians and who believe in prevention and early intervention to keep kids healthy. We offer developmental screenings, parent education and connections to community resources.

Teen Medicine
Dr. Janelle Shumate is an Adolescent Pediatrician, focusing on caring for patients as they enter puberty, continuing through the teen years and transitioning into adulthood. Formerly with Wake Teen, Dr. Shumate brings experience and expertise to this new area of focus to enhance our pediatrics program for our patients.

Dr. Shelly Rickert, DDS, left, gives dental care to Christian High, 12, center, while his mother Marquesa Barden-High looks on at Wake Health Services in Raleigh, NC on Jan. 9, 2012. Many low-income children in North Carolina don't get proper dental care; the state is in the bottom five of children's dental care rankings.

Family Dental Center (relocated to 1011 Rock Quarry Road)
Our Dental Center serves children ages 0-19, but will be expanding to provide adult dental care to registered patients. Our Dental Center has relocated to  our new Southeast Raleigh location at 1001 rock Quarry Road. We encourage parents to bring their children to see a dentist from the first tooth, by age one.

Senior Health Center (now open at 1011 Rock Quarry Road)
Rex Healthcare and Advance Community Health created a partnership to provide a new home for the Rex Senior Health Center, with enhanced care and expanded services for senior patients in Southeast Raleigh and beyond. Horizon Healthcare for the Homeless Program – expanding outreach
Our Horizon Healthcare for the Homeless Program provides primary care, substance abuse services, diabetes education, behavioral health and many other services to people experiencing homelessness. The program is anchored at our Southeast Raleigh location, but patients of all ages can be seen at every location. We also have an Outreach Center at the South Wilmington Men’s Shelter and the Women’s Center of Wake County. Men, women, and children are welcome. We have many partners in helping the homeless: the Wake County Continuum of Care Collaboration, the Wake County Homeless Working Group, the Wake County Housing and Homeless Coalition, and the North Carolina Coalition to End Homelessness.
