PRN Pharmacist

Advance Community Health is opening a new pharmacy and is looking for an innovative, energetic PRN Pharmacist to work in the pharmacy providing a combination of institutional and community pharmacy services.  This position involves supporting clinical staff and providing patients with excellent customer service in a high volume environment.  Pharmacist will report to the Pharmacy Manager.  Tasks would include be not be limited to:

Reviews prescriptions from providers to ensure accuracy, appropriateness of medication while screening for drug interactions and contraindications

Manage workflow in a safe, efficient and timely manner Follows 340B policies and procedures

Follows policies and procedures involved with bulk medication programs

Oversees prescription processing and general workflow

Uses provided technology to maintain a streamlined workflow

Counsels patients on new prescriptions

Completes Comprehensive Medication Reviews and communicates information to technicians to for entry

Consults with providers and recommends medication therapies that meet the patients’ needs while contributing to overall therapy goals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
  • Active and current Pharmacist license with the State of North Carolina
  •  Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR/AED) certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D) degree

Skills preferred but not required

Community Pharmacy experience in a higher volume pharmacy
