Advance Community Health is expanding access to healthcare in Southeast Raleigh with a new 35,000 sq. ft, $13 million investment in a health center facility. The non-profit, community-based health center will provide consolidated healthcare services in one location.   SE_lobby

“We are poised to remove longstanding barriers and provide Southeast Raleigh adults and children with increased access to a broad range of healthcare services,” said CEO Penella Washington. “This is about more than healthcare; this project will serve as a catalyst to transform a community,” she said. 

Construction has begun on the new building, located adjacent to the current Rock Quarry Road Family Medicine site at 1001 Rock Quarry Road. It is expected to be completed in early Fall 2015.
 

GROWING NEED: SERVING THE MOST VULNERABLE

  • Rapid population growth accross the region
  • 25% of Wake County residents are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.  In Southeast Raleigh, that number jumps to 37%
  • Advance Community Health serves 25,000 patients.  2/3 of our patients have incomes below the Federal Poverty Level
  • It is estimated that nearly 100,000 people remain unserved by a primary care physician in the neighborhoods surrounding Southeast Raleigh

  • Consolidated, one-stop location
  • Expanded health, pharmacy, and dental services
  • Four practices consolidated into one location
  • Community meeting & training spaces
  • Greater efficiencies with centralized appointment and referral services
  • Greater use of primary care resulting in reduced utilization of expensive Emergency Room visits

ENHANCED CAPCITY

  • 35,000 sq. ft. facility
  • Expand from 29,000 to 48,000 sq. ft. of patient space in Southest Raleigh
  • Capacity to serve an additional 10,000 patients

THE CAMPAIGN

  • $2 million campaign goal
  • Already secured a $450,000 matching grant from Wake County
  • Already allocated $500,000 from the Board of Trustees
  • Opportunity to expand community engagement and partnerships
